Breakaway is the second album by Kelly Clarkson released on November 30, 2004 (see 2004 in music). It debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart with sales of 250,000 units. After spending 61 consecutive weeks in the top twenty of Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart, Breakaway dropped to #24. It is only the fourth album in history to stay in the top 20 consecutively for a year. It was certified five times platinum in mid-January 2006 for sales of over 4.9 million copies and 8.5 million copies worldwide. The first four singles from the album reached the top ten of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

At the 2006 Grammys, Breakaway was named Best Pop Vocal Album and the single "Since U Been Gone" was named Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Thankful is the debut album by American pop singer Kelly Clarkson, released in the United States by RCA on April 15, 2003 (see 2003 in music). "A Moment Like This" was its first single, followed by "Miss Independent", "Low" and "The Trouble with Love Is". It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with roughly 297,000 copies sold, eventually selling around 2.4 million copies in the U.S. and over 3 million worldwide. It initially sold poorly in the United Kingdom, but the album started to rise in early 2006 thanks to the success of second album Breakaway, peaking at #41 in January 2006.
